NDGF CERN Advisory Committee
In order to ensure adequate participation of Nordic High Energy Physics researchers in CERN activities, NDGF provides the Nordic Tier1 facility for WLCG, serving ALICE, ATLAS and CMS experiments. Few associated Tier2s are foreseen as well. The facilities are distributed between four Nordic countries: Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. Hardware and human resources needed to operate this facility are contributed by Nordic High Energy Physics research groups, through agreements with national research councils or similar bodies and funding agencies.
In order to overview and coordinate these Tier1 and Tier2 activities, the advisory NDGF-CERN Committee is set up. It consists of representatives of HEP groups and stake-holders in computing resources in Nordic countries. The NDGF-CERN Committee convenes 3 times a year to review the status of affairs. Chairmanship rotates between the members on yearly basis. NDGF CERN coordinator is an ex-officio member of this Committee, and is in charge of day-to-day activities.
